10754 - Management Accountant Temp-to-Perm
Location: Northamptonshire

Summary
Our Client, a successful FMCG manufacturing business near Kettering, is looking to recruit a Management Accountant on a full-time permanent basis.

The successful candidate would be required to prepare, develop & analyse key financial information to ensure the business makes well-informed decisions, ensuring future stability, growth & profitability. You would be required to maintain financial policies & management information systems, as well as providing a high quality support service by liaising with management colleagues on all aspects of finance.

The role combines accounting skills with business management skills focusing on the future. Analysing the performance of the business and advising on how to pre-empt problems, adapt to changing circumstances and improve value, by managing and reducing costs and implementing newer, more effective strategies.


Duties / Responsibilities
*Responsible for the production of monthly management accounts including analysis of the Profit & Loss Accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries,
*Responsible for preparation of all Budgets and Forecasts of the various companies within the Group on a timely basis along with commentaries and analyses of the Budget and Quarterly forecast to ensure spending is kept in line with Budget,
*Offering professional judgement on financial matters and communicating and updating the finance department on current standards and best practice by development of the Management Accounting procedures and processes for the Group,
*Reviewing financial performance and providing detailed analysis of actual performance of the various costs centres within the company against budget and forecast,
*Providing predictive and dynamic financial modelling and contributing to the medium and long-term business planning/forecasts of the business to improve value by managing and reducing costs and implementing newer, more effective strategies,
*Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions and making appropriate recommendations to pre-empt problems and adapt to changing circumstances and by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions,
*Interpreting and communicating financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance and developing and expanding the monthly reporting pack to assist the decision making process with non-Finance Budget Holders,
*Assessing key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies in relation to the businesses 5-Year Business Plan,
*Reviewing the financial performance of the Subsidiaries to assess profitability and performance of the entities, in conjunction with the Development Accountant,
*Assist in Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls.


Candidate Requirements
*A recognised professional accounting qualification,
*Previous Budgetary control experience within medium to large manufacturing enterprises,
*Good report writing and presentation skills,
*Sound management and communication skills,
*Sound understanding of the processes required within an ERP environment,
*Ability to liaise with both Finance and Non-Finance personnel at all levels,
*Time Management and ability to work on own initiative,
*Sound experience of Budgeting & Forecasting using spread sheet techniques or bespoke Budgeting / Planning software,
*Systems: Advanced Microsoft skills (Excel/Word).


Salary
*Appointment Type: Permanent
*Salary: up to £50,000 per annum (subject to experience)
*Hours: Full-time, Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5:00pm
*Holiday: 29 Days (21 + STAT)
*Pension, Discounts, Parking
