Role Overview - Procurement - Part of Finance and Corporate Services

Due to continued growth and development, we are looking to recruit a Procurement Manager. This role will see you working with the wider Procurement Team & stakeholders around the business, ensuring procurement activities are optimised. Working within specific category areas, implementing correct contracting & commercial arrangements with suppliers. Achieving maximum value from spend whilst fully supporting the needs of the wider Procurement Team as well as client and commercial bid teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a portfolio of product & service categories alongside related suppliers in order to satisfy business requirements
  • Focusing on IT Hardware & Software as well as Telecoms & Hosting categories to analyse existing supplier profile, spend and relationships and develop strategies and activities to look for consolidation opportunities
  • Improve existing and develop new relationships, to improve Sopra Steria Procurement's PSL profile as well as deliver efficiencies and cost savings, alongside supporting the activities of the wider Procurement Team
  • Additionally review supplier contracts, to ensure they are fit for purpose & support existing Client contracts and wider procurement activities
  • Market Procurement capabilities internally and develop strong partnerships with executive managers in support of Client Procurement initiatives

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • CIPS qualified or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of Procurement process
  • Experience dealing with complex negotiations on prices and contract terms in order to deliver savings and commercial value
  • Knowledge of contracts and contracting process
  • Ability to set strategy and interact with senior stakeholders
  • Good commercial awareness, including influencing profit margins on deals, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and controlling, and commercial reporting
  • A team player capable of working in a challenging and demanding environment, where understanding Procurement's impact on Client contracts and commercials, is crucial

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • MCIPS qualified
  • Working knowledge of consultancy style companies

  • Experience working on client-related procurement projects
  • Experience of IT procurement activities, requirements and supplier management
