With over 2,000 animals spread across 80 acres of natural habitat, Paignton Zoo offers the ultimate day out for old and young alike.  

While most people know us as one of the region’s leading attractions, we are also a conservation and education charity that is working to make a difference to the lives of animals, both in the UK and across the world.  

Now, we are looking for a Catering Supervisor to join us on a part time basis and ensure that our visitors have a great experience at our restaurant and eating outlets across the zoo.

In this exciting role, you’ll have the chance to make a positive, lasting impact on our catering offering. This includes Island Restaurant, based in the heart of our zoo, as well as Great Griller Burger Shack, the Lakeside cabin and Hangout Pizzeria.

Your Role:

As the Catering Supervisor, you’ll ensure the smooth and efficient running of our main restaurant, as well as our cabins. 

Focusing on providing an excellent guest experience, you will: 

- Work with the Supervisor, Head Chef and Management Team to ensure that our catering offering is profitable and compliments Paignton Zoo 
- Motivate and support your team 
- Ensure that staff rotas are completed 
- Make sure that the food safety system is upheld 
- Cash up tils and balance floats 
- Order stock and ensure that POS items are in-line with branding guidelines 

About You:

To join us as a Catering Supervisor, you’ll need: 

- At least two years’ experience in a catering role 
- A Level 2 Food Safety qualification 
- Great communication skills 
- A team-oriented mindset 

We want to hear from you if you’ve worked as a Catering Team Leader, Front of House Supervisor, Hospitality Supervisor, Assistant Catering Manager, Assistant Front of House Manager or Front of House Team Leader. 

This is a part time role, working 26 hours per week, reducing to 19.5 hours per week from November to mid-February. Additional hours may be available during the winter months to cover holiday and sickness.
