Role: Training Manager - Manufacturing
Location: Gloucester
Duration: 6 month initial contract
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Training Manager with a strong Manufacturing background, to join the team based in Gloucester for an initial 6 month project.
This person will be required to lead a small team of Training Specialists, who are assessing and delivering technical training of Dowty manufacturing personnel. (Both OEM and R&O activities).
We are looking for an experienced training manager to:
- Maintain training delivery records (individuals and department)
- Plan training/assessment activities.
- Assess employee competences (post training).
- Provide feedback to trainers on quality of training delivered.
- Provide training solutions to non-standard training requests.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Leaders in reviewing shop-floor process documentation (routing cards etc..)
- Apprentice program management for all Dowty Apprentices.
- Recruit and train Training team personnel.
- Manage training budget
- Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
- Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a training manager in a technically complex industry. (Manufacturing/Engineering/Aviation)
- Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, E-learning, workshops, simulations etc)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
- Good computer and database skills
- BS degree in education, human resources or relevant technical field
