LOCATION: New Mills, Derbyshire - Commutable from Stockport, Manchester, Macclesfield and Buxton

JOB TITLE: Mechanical Design Engineer

SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP25k - GBP35k - Negotiable dependant on experience

WORKING HOURS: Permanent, Full time

THE ROLE: Mechanical Design Engineer - New Mills, Derbyshire

The purpose of the role is to design pressure vessels and pulsation dampers in accordance with ASME VIII and PD5500.

Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Design Engineer - New Mills, Derbyshire

• The design of custom pressure vessels from concept to the point of manufacture
• Producing finished assembly and manufacturing drawings
• Producing design calculations in accordance with applicable design codes
• Creating Bills of Materials and routings within the MRP system
• Raising requisitions for any materials required.
• Assisting the design team with any development work.
• Take an active part in continuous improvement activities
• Liaise effectively with other departments to provide optimum customer service.

THE CANDIDATE: The Successful candidate will have either a Degree/Msc or Masters in Mechanical Engineering and ideally previous experience in a Mechanical Design engineering role, although applications for exceptional graduates will be considered

Essential Criteria - Mechanical Design Engineer - New Mills, Derbyshire

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline
• Working Knowledge of Mathcad / AutoCAD / SolidWorks or equivalent software.
• Performs tasks requiring moderate proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook and manufacturing systems.

Desirable criteria -

• Experience in related field would be an advantage.
• MSc or Masters an advantage
• Previous experience of working in quality or lean six sigma teams within a manufacturing environment desirable
