Corporate Tax Manager - Milton Keynes

Our client, a well-known Top 10 practice based in Milton Keynes are looking for a Corporate Tax Manager to join the firm and see the overall development and growth of the Tax Team.

This is a highly important role managing a portfolio of multinational clients with complex tax affairs. This role will make a significant contribution toward the future development of the office and the firm and therefore for the right driven and dedicated candidate, could lead to a partnership. The role will involve dealing with all day to day and annual corporate tax compliance requirements as well as working on a variety of advisory projects and technical assignments. The role will also be key in business development and networking so the ability to influence and liaise with key stake holders and future clients is important.

What you will be doing:

• Be the main point of contact on tax only cases for the firm
• Taking to clients throughout the year and to practice excellent client service.
• To identify and advise on tax planning opportunities and to undertake specialist technical assignments as required.
• Ensure that work meets targeted recovery, and to bill clients on a timely basis.
• Prepare proposals for new work
• Take part in formal presentations to prospective clients.
• Key part of business development activities.
• Take an active involvement in client seminars, and to effectively follow up contacts made.
• Appropriate liaison takes place with all other departments, and that all potential client needs are identified and serviced accordingly.
• Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, and to fulfil professional bodies' CPD requirements.
• Line manager for staff, including taking an active role in their development.

We'd like to meet someone who:

Has experience of working with a growing Top 10 Practice. Has been involved in business development and client facing project management. Used to taking responsibility for teams and able to mentor new and junior team members.

• CTA/ATII qualified is preferred or equivalent (along with an accounting qualification such as ACA or ACCA).
• Significant previous experience operating at Manager or a similar role.
• Proven experience in client handling and project management.
• Proven tax experience in producing high quality work within budget.
• Tax experience from a practice background would be a distinct advantage.
