Membership Development Officer - 2 roles
Reference number: A2550818
Location: North East
Salary starting at: £17,276 to £18,716 per annum
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent

We are looking for someone with lots of chat and lots of enthusiasm to inspire the work of Europe's largest conservation charity - the RSPB.

Oh, and we are not just about the birds. In fact over 7,000 species of animals and plants make a home on our reserves including 1,500 that are nationally scarce, rare and threatened. It's our vision to create a world that is richer in nature.

You could soon embark on a career where you will inspire people about nature, so much so that they become supporters of our work by becoming members of the RSPB.

The role will include extensive travel around the North East and sometimes further afield, so a FULL DRIVING LICENCE is essential. We will provide you with a vehicle full of wonderful kit and the office support to reach as many people as possible. All you need to do is bring the passion and enthusiasm and the drive to succeed.

An element of weekend and bank holiday working will be required as these are the best times to catch the crowds. Working hours may vary each day.

What you get from us

  • The successful candidate will become part of an experienced and driven face to face membership team working within RSPB
  • This role includes fantastic daily variety - working at different offsite venues and events, enthusing, inspiring and recruiting new RSPB members
  • Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate - the RSPB has a fantastic training suite to support individual personal development.
  • A range of personal benefits, including free access to RSPB reserves, discounts in the RSPB's shop, access to our employee assistance programme and a chance to volunteer for a day annually anywhere in the organisation, amongst others.

FULL DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRED. Driving is essential for this role; a vehicle is supplied for work purposes and all work related travel costs are covered.

Closing date: 30 September 2018
The interview will be in two parts comprising a formal panel interview followed by a short practical session where you will be observed interacting with members of the public.
Interested? Then please complete and submit the application form on our website.
