We are looking to appoint an Independent Visitor Coordinator to be part of our outstanding ‘Targeted Youth Service’ at Bolton Lads & Girls Club. The successful Co-ordinator will ensure that we provide the best possible service to children and young people who have been referred to us.
This is not a 9-5pm office job; a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service is required.
Main duties include:
- Managing Looked After Children and their Independent Visitors (volunteer befrienders)
- Providing dedicated support, advice and guidance to Independent Visitors
- Attending professional meetings and liaising with agencies to provide the best possible service to children and young people referred to the service
- Recruiting and training volunteers
About the BLGC
We have teams of full-time, part-time, seasonal staff that offer a range of services to vulnerable young people in Bolton. 1 in 4 children in Bolton are members of the Bolton Lads & Girls Club (BLGC).
We run projects, clubs and activities to give young people aged 8 - 19 yrs a safe environment to make friends and achieve their full potential.
Required Experience
- Experienced in working with young people and managing a team
- Organised with excellent inter-personal skills
- A background in social care, youth work or a relevant field
