AREA SALES MANAGER
Our Client is a well-established distributor of garden machinery (domestic and commercial). They are looking for a highly motivated Area Sales Manager to manage and develop the dealer network in their territory. Someone with a base in or around the Shropshire area would be well located for this role.
Responsibilities and Duties
This is a field bases sales role and will work with the national sales manager to further develop the dealer network in the territory. This will include
* Identifying, qualifying and appointing new dealers/agents.
* Working with existing dealers to increase business levels and acquire the best possible real estate proposition for product display in each dealer showroom.
* Developing expert product knowledge to advise dealers on best best products for their specific markets.
Requirements
* A proven track record in a field sales role with a minimum of 2 years experience.
* Experience selling through a dealer/distributor network is essential.
* Excellent account management and influencing skills.
* Experience selling similar product is required e.g. Power Tools, DIY, Hardware, Light Machinery,
This is not a job for an order take role, it requires real sales expertise. We are looking for someone who is driven by revenue growth and has real influencing skills when it comes to client relationships.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants must have relevant field sales skills and have worked in a similar Area Sales Management role for a distribution type company. Previous experience selling to a dealer (re-seller) network is essential and while experience with similar product lines (Tools/Equipment, Garden Machinery etc.) would be beneficial it is not absolutely essential. The ability to quickly build technical product knowledge in a technical environment however is very important.

Competitive Basic Salary. c. GBP32K
Commission structure based on sales target giving OTE c. GBP42K.
