Site Supervisor

The company
A not for profit organisation that is a major employer in Kent region with extensive assets in the area which include commercial office, residential and retail properties.
Due to an ongoing expansion programme our client is currently looking increase the operations team's capacity to manage ongoing works refurbishing and maintaining assets within their portfolio which is delivered through framework agreements and negotiated works on larger schemes.
The role of Site Supervisor
* As part of the operations team you as a Site Supervisor will work in closely with Contracts Supervisors and Project Managers for the delivery of planned and reactive works and manage the delivery of projects.
* You will control and monitor works packages.
* Creating reports throughout the delivery of projects.
* Advise the Project Management team on contractor performance.
* Check the validity of contractors/workers safety qualifications at the point of induction.
* Identify and notify the teams of any situations arising that create exposure to risk.
* Perform inspections on projects throughout the day to monitor progress and ensure work is being delivered to design detail.
* Promote safe systems of working by checking subcontractor RAMS, identifying issues which could arise on projects and where possible deliver tool box talks when a training requirement is recognised.
About you
To have a successful application you will need possess and be able to demonstrate the following:
Qualifications:
* CSCS Card, SSSTS or SMSTS and First Aid
* Qualification as construction tradesperson (Carpentry, Brickwork or MEP are particularly desirable).
or
* Educated to HNC standard in Construction.
Experience:
* A minimum of 1-2 years experience in supervisory or management position for a main/principal contractor.
* Experience of working within a Framework relationship involving multiple contractors previously would be highly desirable but isn't essential.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and a good understanding of MS Project is desirable.
* Interpreting construction drawings and design detail.
Skill sets:
* Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
* Eye for detail.
* Ability to lead as and when appropriate and encourage other to maintain standards.
* Be able to take an active role during project review meetings.
