Description
A Junior Network Operations Centre (NOC) Technician is required by our rapidly expanding client working within the satellite communications industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded person - it could suit an electronics graduate, or someone used to working within an IT environment - or someone who has some RF knowledge - or even someone who understands TCP/IP or Network infrastructure.
The important thing is they want someone who has a great attitude and a technical mind.
As well as dealing with technical equipment related to the satellite communications industry you will be helping specialist engineers over the telephone - training will be provided in this area.
The details???.
You will report to the "Earth Station" Manager - and assist in the daily operations of the site.
This includes installation, configuration & maintenance of RF & IP based equipment, commissioning of new links, fault finding, managing & maintaining systems.
They deal with satellite communications - and this is an ideal position to get a foot in the door in the satellite industry.
After training you will be Implementing & configuring new circuits for customers (including DVB, SCPC, iDirect & Vipersat etc)
Monitor & maintain infrastructure of the teleport, such as A/C and power distribution
Monitoring Network and Broadcast activity
Give technical support to customers over the phone
Installation and removal of equipment and cabling
Create & maintenance of documentation
Training is provided in all areas.
Get in touch if you have a technical mind???.perfect (but not essential) for someone with basic RF knowledge, TCP/IP knowledge or an understanding of Network infrastructure etc
Even better (again not essential) VSAT network experience, RF/IF test & measurement, Electronic/Electrical workshop skills, advanced networking knowledge (DNS, BGP, etc), Cisco IOS knowledge (CCNA certified would be a plus), UNIX/Linux knowledge??? again training is provided for the right person.
We are looking for people currently living within 1 hours drive of the Rugby area in the first instance.
Please note that because of the nature of the job you will need to work a 3 shift system (days, nights and occasional weekends.)
The job is in Rugby - but not in the town centre - so you would need transport of some kind.
