THIS IS BELONGING

Everyone wants to belong to something. A football team, a family, a close-knit group of friends. The sense of belonging you find in the Army is next level. When you've trained together, side by side, learned things no classroom can teach you. When you've lived together and worked together, it creates a bond like no other. A bond that lasts a lifetime, and sees you through whatever life throws at you.

Wherever we operate, we need modern bases to house our teams. As part of the Corps of Royal Engineers, our Carpenters and Joiners play a key role in the Army, planning, setting out and constructing timber structures across the world. In this role, you'll be an expert on timber and fittings, using woodwork machinery and your technical skillsto install doors, stairs, windows and suspended timber floors for both permanent and temporary buildings.

Developing a key set of skills that will help you in the Army and in civilian life, you'll erect scaffolding, build partitions and establish roof trusses to make sure our troops are always sheltered, whether in the UK or overseas. If you enjoy fixing and making things, this is a chance to put those skills to use in a dynamic environment that empowers you to realise potential and make an impact on the world. Ready for the challenge? Find where you belong now.

WORLD-CLASS TRAINING

Join us and you'll start by learning the soldiering skills common to every member of the British Army, like outdoor survival and the safe handling of weapons. Then it's nine weeks at the Royal School of Military Engineering Regiment, learning military engineering skills like demolition, mine warfare and bridge building, before finishing with 26 weeks' technical training at the Royal School of Military Engineering, learning how to use machinery and hand tools.
