AfC Band 3 £16,800 - £19,655 per annum

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Assistants to work in the Blood Science department of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. You will be based at one of our hospitals and may be required to work at either site.

Your role will be to support Biomedical Scientists in the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic services within the Blood Sciences laboratories. Working under supervision and autonomously, responsibilities include receiving blood, serum, urine, CSF and other fl uids into the department and dealing with telephone enquiries. MLA’s also support laboratory functions assisting in the diagnosis of disorders by performing related analytical, clerical and administrative duties and would make an ideal start for a school leaver with an interest in science.

It is essential the post holder is polite and can work under pressure accurately. The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a team and rotate through the various disciplines within blood sciences and to participate in a shift system which includes some weekends, early (07:45– 15:45), evening (13:15 - 21:15) and overnight duties (21:00 to 08:00).

Full training and support will be given.Please note this is not a trainee biomedical scientist position
