Finance Officer
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer to join our team here at Well for Living/LASS. The person appointed will be an AAT licenced accountant with the ability to undertake the following functions:
· Use appropriate accounting software to maintain and manage the financial accounting systems and produce financial reports as required as well as annual budgets and quarterly records of expenditure against budget.
· Administer and monitor bank accounts and transactions in line with company procedures.
· Keep records of income due and received from all sources and account for the income in the appropriate accounting period
· Produce the monthly payroll including pension administration and process payroll year end.
· Manage petty cash transactions
· Assist with the financial aspects of bids, grant applications and project proposals
· Assist with the completion and submission of annual returns
· Prepare accounts for audit or independent review as appropriate at year end.
It is essential that the successful candidate has the following skills and abilities:
· Ability to write clear reports including the ability to collect, analyse and summarise complex information
· Knowledge of accounting software particularly SAGE
· Ability to use Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
· Previous experience of management accounting and experience of fundraising and contribution to bid writing.
· Ability to demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and adapt to changing priorities
· Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise own work, set own deadlines and tasks and produce accurate work on time.
· Can evidence accuracy and attention to detail in work carried out.
