Maintenance Worker
Our client is a privately owned Nursing Home established for over 30 years The building is a Georgian period construction, and thus requires constant maintenance and upkeep. We are looking to recruit a Multi-skilled maintenance person to work alongside our existing Maintenance Personnel.
You must have skills in Plumbing, Electrical, and basic construction or bricklaying. The maintenance personnel are responsible for the preventative and planned maintenance of the Home and general appearance, including all rooms, fixtures and fittings as well as the exterior of the premises. You be required to have a professional and friendly attitude, as communication is key in ensuring the various departments and systems operate effectively.
You will also be required to work on larger ongoing projects such as structural reconfigurations or installations. As part of the maintenance team you will report to the Manager and Proprietor.
Your duties can include:
• Equipment repair
• Repair to the building
• Carpet replacement/laying
• Garden maintenance
• Kitchen & bathroom repair and replacement
• Basic electrical work
• Plastering and decorating
• Basic bricklaying
• Checklists and audits for Health and Safety
Essential skills required:
• Experience in the role
• Good communication
• Experience with equipment and tools
• Own transport
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
• Experience with basic construction or bricklaying
Desirable skills:
• Plastering/rendering
• Carpet laying
• Experienced tradesperson
Successful employment subject to satisfactory references and DBS check.
Salary: GBP11 per hour
