Our Client; a truly global leader in the manufacture of Specialist Vehicles and Survivability systems are experiencing enormous growth. It is for this reason that we have been tasked with finding an experienced Lead Test Engineer who will be responsible for the test and validation of my Clients products on a permanent basis. On offer to the successful candidate will be a negotiable basic salary, depending on experience, but up to cGBP50,000 pa, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for;

-Define test requirements for new projects and create test plans and schedules.
-Generate and update test procedures.
-Manage and approve test reports, certificates and other documentation.
-Manage test vehicles and company test equipment.
-Manage and prioritise the workload of the Test Engineer(s) and outside test suppliers/contractors.
-Coach and mentor Test Engineer(s)
-Supervise and execute whole vehicle, component, seat, blast and ballistic test programmes.
-Instrument and use data acquisition methods on whole vehicles and/or vehicle components.
-Process test data, generate reports and present results to relevant engineering personnel.
-Procure appropriate test rigs and test equipment.
-Inspect and report on failed/fatigued components.
-Develop and work in accordance to ISO9000 procedures.
-Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Chief Engineer.

Qualifications and ideal experience:

-Ideally educated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required.
-Full UK driving licence (> 3.5T preferred).
-Will be experienced in working in an Automotive/Defence test environment.
-Will be experienced in report writing.
-Ideally will have experience in driving various vehicles on/off road and on track.
-Will ideally be experienced in vehicle data acquisition equipment/software - preferred.
-Should be knowledgeable in vehicle systems.
-Any knowledge of ballistic/blast protection would be preferred, but not essential.
