A local authority client of ours is looking for a receptionist to work on the main reception desk between 8:45am - 13:15pm Monday to Friday.

MAIN PURPOSE

* To provide a comprehensive, efficient, effective and responsive customer service to internal and external customers in all areas of local authorities reach.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To be responsible for the provision of an efficient and friendly service to all customers contacting Borough of Poole Main Reception.

2. To promote the Borough of Poole as a customer orientated Authority.

3. To liaise and work effectively with colleagues from Customer Services and all other Service Units in accordance with the Borough of Poole's Priority Employee Behaviours framework.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

1. To deal with all enquiries in a positive, friendly and efficient manner, providing a quick service for Borough of Poole customers, providing a first line point of contact.

1. To ensure any visitors are directed to the appropriate officer/unit. Ensure all pre-arranged visitors are greeted and prepared for. Signpost visitors to online and telephone services.

1. To access, maintain and transfer data between computer and information systems in order to provide accurate and timely advice and services to customers.

1. Respond to emergency situations as set out in emergency guidelines.

1. Refer queries outside of their knowledge to the appropriate person / area in a timely manner to support a prompt and effective service

1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of the functions and services of the Council.

1. Receive and despatch mail as required, record tenders and identify any urgent deliveries , contacting members of council staff in a timely manner.

1. Receive and manage lost property left in taxi's. Record, receipt and store items securely in a timely manner.

1. Issue RADAR keys, manage paperwork and co-ordinate with cash office for payment.
