Are you an experienced maintenance technician looking to join a well-established chemical manufacturer?
The Advocate Group have partnered with their client who are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their team on their site in Wakefield. The purpose of this role is to work as part of the maintenance team in order to keep the top tier COMAH site operating in a safe and productive manner, undertaking all duties in accordance with Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
To respond to reactive maintenance requests as directed by the Site Support Manager or Site Shift Manager, you will be expected to;
Diagnose problems with the following;
The site electrical distribution;
Ensure records of all E, C & I systems are accurate and up to date
Read and extract information from drawings, specification diagrams and operation and maintenance manuals
Required Skills & Experience:

The purpose of this role is to work as part of the maintenance team in order to keep the top tier COMAH site operating in a safe and productive manner, undertaking all duties in accordance with Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
To respond to reactive maintenance requests as directed by the Site Support Manager or Site Shift Manager, you will be expected to;
Diagnose problems with the following;
The site electrical distribution;
- 415v 3-Phase, 110v & 240v electrical equipment
- Motor control systems
- DCS Control systems (Desirable)
- PLC based control loop (Desirable)
- Gas powered steam raising boilers
- Air compressors
- Demineralised water plants
- River water cooling system
- Cooling towers
- Equipment in hazardous areas which must comply with DSEAR regulations
- Equipment serving specific safety functions which must comply with BS EN 61511
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently
- Carry out routine proof testing of safety instrumented systems critical alarms
- Carry out functional testing of Basic Process Control Systems
- Carry out routine calibrations of instrumentation
Ensure records of all E, C & I systems are accurate and up to date
Read and extract information from drawings, specification diagrams and operation and maintenance manuals
Required Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience;
- Ideally 5 years' experience working in process industry or equivalent
- Knowledge of Top Tier COMAH site is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills
- IEE 17th edition wiring regulations
- BS 7671 - Wiring regulations
- BS EN 61511 - Safety Instrumented Systems (Desirable)
- BS EN 60079 - ATEX Regulations (Desirable)
- Comp Ex 1-4 (Desirable)
