An Excellent opportunity for a Skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder to join a well-established company based on Coventry!
The Company:
They are a small company who have a full book of work and are expanding the business. They take work from all industries and deal with mild steel, stainless and aluminium and are looking to take on titanium work. The company provides welding services in MIG and TIG however the majority of our work is stainless steel TIG welding for jobs used in the food industry and therefore experience in this sector is beneficial but not mandatory.
The company is looking a skilled and experienced sheet metal fabricator who is experienced in TIG welding. Their level of finish and pride in their work is a huge part of their selling point and they need someone who takes pride in their work yet maintains a high level of work rate.
The jobs are varied and mostly one off/bespoke or small batch work making for a constantly engaging and thought provoking experience.
Role and responsibilities:
- Interpreting manufacture drawings.
- Identifying parts and components on parts lists.
- Creating material cutting lists from drawings, cutting stock materials to size accurately.
- Welding of tubular framework with knowledge of sequential welding and understanding of distortion control for sheet metal projects.
- Sanding, dressing and polishing welds, graining, blending and conditioning surfaces.
- Marking out and cutting patterns from sheet metal accurately, drilling and tapping.
Candidate Requirements:
Applicants would be looked upon preferably who have experiences using a guillotine, press brake, sheet metal rolls and have a good understanding of sheet metal pattern development.
AutoCAD/draughtsman/design experience is also something which would make an applicant stand out as well as some basic experiences with lathe turning and or milling.
This is a full-time position and in return the company is offering a competitive salary of £10-£15 Per Hour, Negotiable depending on skill and experience.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30 – 4:30 (Flexible)
Your skills will be tested at interview. Trial 3 month contract which may lead to a permanent contract
