The Avon Pension Fund is a multi-employer fund administered by Bath & North East Somerset Council. With a current value of £4.6 billion, it is one of the largest local authority funds in the UK.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Pensions Valuation Officer to join the team that manages the relationship with the scheme employers with regard to financial matters and funding solutions.

Working within the Investments and Finance Team you will be responsible for developing relationships with the scheme employers to ensure they understand and are able to manage the impact of the pension costs on their organisation.

Within this role you will be responsible for aspects of the monitoring the financial status of scheme employers, provision of IAS19 / FRS101/102 disclosures for employers and the admission/exit of employers into/leaving the Fund. Along with other members of the team you will assist the Pensions Valuation Advisor with other valuation or actuarial projects as they arise. In addition you will supervise the Pension Valuation Officer in the areas you lead on.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop a career in finance and pensions. We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, strong numerical skills and who enjoys working within a small team.

Benefits include flexible working, annual leave entitlement of up to 30 days and membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
