We are looking for an Operations Manager (Director Designate) to join our bust team based in Luton.
We are a well-established and fast growing organisation and we are currently recruiting a highly talented and driven individual to drive our manufacturing operation. We are part of a successful group looking for an experienced, skilled and motivated individual to join our prestigious organisation at one of our key growth businesses.
Toolspec Manufacturing Company Ltd are a well-established and successful manufacturing business located in Luton. We are currently recruiting an Operations Manager (Director Designate), a fast track opportunity to be a part of a growing manufacturing business and develop in this role with the business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and being an integral member of the management team, we are looking for someone with extensive experience within manufacturing and supply chain. This is a new role for the business and the ideal candidate will be self-driven, highly motivated and have a 'can do' attitude.
* Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean and organised work environment that is fully compliant with H&S regulations.
* Set and deliver the manufacturing plan in accordance with agreed company objectives to achieve agreed KPI's.
* Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Manufacturing team to execute the company vision.
* Continually improve the production process to deliver sustainable cost reduction using Lean activities
* Deliver excellence in quality.
* Relationship build and liaise with internal/external customers to ensure complete satisfaction, and maintain a strong manufacturing order book.
* Control operational costs in accordance with agreed budgets and demand requirements to ensure the site meets its operational metrics.
* Ensure adequate human, machine, facilities, and system resources are in place to achieve the manufacturing schedule. Propose and implement solutions to any gaps in these resources.
* Inspire and mentor a team of direct reports to align succession planning with business needs.

Essential Skills
* This position requires someone who has had hands on experience in the 1stTier Automotive and off highway vehicle market sectors.
* Medium volume manufacturing with high demands.

* Experience of Lean manufacturing.
