The role involves the preparation and maintenance of stock and apparatus for class use and the provision of technical help and support to the teaching staff and students. You will also be responsible for the replenishment of materials, equipment, apparatus, software and chemicals.
You will need good Science GCSE grades including Biology; be a pro-active self-starter with strong organisation and communication skills; and be IT literate. An A-Level in Biology is desirable but not essential, as is previous experience running experiments. The role is working 35 hours per week inclusive of college release time on a term-time basis. The apprenticeship role is fixed-term for the duration of the Apprenticeship Assessment (approx. 2.5 years). The course on offer is the Science Manufacturing Technician with Uxbridge College based at their Harrow Campus. The role and course is to start as soon as possible.
