I am proud to be retained by an innovative and growing blue chip engineering company in the recruitment of a permanent Production Planner based in Glasgow.

My client is diversified global manufacturer with annual revenues of approximately $7 billion, servicing the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Industrial markets.

The Position:

The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating materials including raw materials, purchased parts, and WIP materials to support production and delivery requirements for customer orders.

You will develop and be accountable for detailed schedules, material requirements, and production & capacity plans - whilst maintaining optimum inventory levels and reducing material shortages.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for On-Time Delivery of manufactured components ensuring a balance between support of inventory and cost saving business objectives
* Removes material flow constraints through long term sustainable corrective actions and solutions
* Issue all production orders and paperwork on time and to plan
* Integrates with external customers on supply chain process improvements
* Leads inventory reduction efforts to maintain 100% availability to assembly operations and world class inventory turns, analyses and takes action on obsolete & slow moving items
* Uses Lean methodologies to ensure processes are well defined, documented and provide Best in Class results
* Resolves ERP system related issues and insures the integrity of the database
* Implements supply and demand changes
* Processes Engineering Change Notifications and Material Review Reports in a timely fashion
* Work closely and coordinate efforts with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Purchasing, Shipping, and Sales departments
* Strong focus on establishing achievable plans during the handover phase, ensuring agreement from all areas of the business
* Reports and resolves customer service issues promptly
* Supports the Team Leader, Head Of Supply Chain and Site Management in various analyses and other tasks
* Working experience and understanding of ISO requirements

Education & Experience Required:

* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must be a team player, have sound judgment, and be skilled in analysis and root cause investigation
* Must have strong attention to detail with proven capabilities in handling multiple priorities
* Must possess strong negotiation skills
* High level of competency in using Microsoft Office products, including; Excel, Word and Power Point
* Demonstrated experience in leading change utilising lean principles such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Total Quality Management
* Requires fluency and proficiency in the practical application of ERP/MRP logic, scheduling logic, order policies, capacity planning, input/output control, product structures, routings, shop floor control, and product family manufacturing strategies. Experience with Infor-Syteline ERP Operating System software would be an advantage
* Must provide excellent customer service, internally and externally, to the organisation

Remuneration Package:

* Salary bracket GBP28,000 - GBP33,000 - dependant on experience
* Performance related Bonus
* Excellent Pension Scheme
