Rent Accounting Assistant Permanent
Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley.
A vacancy has arisen within Finance Services for the role of a Rent Accounting Assistant, based in Renfrewshire House.
Reporting to the Rent Accounting Officer, you will ensure that the cash and rental information held on the housing system is reconciled to the Council's ledger system on a regular basis, including all relevant suspense and bank accounts. You will also ensure the integrity and accuracy of the rent accounting information relating to Council Tenants, liaising with other services as required.
You must be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role working with financial data, particularly reconciliations. It is essential you have effective ICT skills and have knowledge of Excel, you should also have effective numeracy, organisational and communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to work effectively as part of a small team. You must be able to work on your own initiative to meet deadlines with the minimum of supervision and demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving.
Experience of working in a Local Government finance environment and previous experience of other IT systems, particularly financial ledger systems, report writing tools or housing systems (e.g. ohms) would be advantageous.
