* To lead and develop the Academy's Sports Science & Medicine department in line with the Club's athletic development objectives and the EPPP. * To be an active member of the Academy Senior Management Team, helping in the strategic planning for the Academy. * Line manager to the Lead Academy Sports Scientist and Academy S&C Coach. * Manage and oversee the rehabilitation and return to play process of injured Academy players alongside the academy Physiotherapy Staff. * Design and oversee individualised LTAD Plans for all Academy players. * Implement and oversee Physical development programmes throughout all Academy age groups. * To provide support to the First Team Sports Science & Medicine department. * Manage and implement appropriate and effective physical testing and monitoring. * Deliver day to day sports science support to the U23 age group. * Must have a Master's degree in Sports Science (or other relevant discipline) from a recognised university. * Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) or equivalent/ higher qualification. * A track record of designing and delivering athletic development programmes with young athletes (U9-U23). * Relevant experience of working as a Sports Scientist/ Strength & Conditioning coach within elite sport. * Competent in the use of IT software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint/Keynote. * Excellent communication and organisational skills. * Clear, enhanced DBS check. Desirable * Relevant professional qualifications/accreditation (e.g. UKSCA, BASES, NSCA, etc.). * Previous experience of using the Performance Management Application (PMA). * Experience of working within a leadership/managerial role. * Experience of working within professional academy football. * Excellent data management skills and experience of using GPS to guide physical development., * Demonstrates enthusiasm and is passionate about youth athletic development. * Proactive decision maker with excellent communication skills. * Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. * Takes responsibility for ensuring a high quality of work and maintaining standards. * Is receptive to feedback about own behaviour, strengths and areas for improvement. * Able to work unsociable hours including weekends and bank holidays please email covering letter and CV to
