LOCATION: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper
SALARY & BENEFITS: circa GBP30k dependent on skills and experience
WORKING HOURS: Part Time - 09.00am to 5pm 3 days per week

THE COMPANY: Our client works on projects in the public, commercial and domestic sector, with a focus on providing an experienced specialised service, for conservation and property restoration on Listed, Heritage and Ecclesiastical buildings. They now seek an experienced Bookkeeper to join their existing team based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

THE ROLE: Our client is looking for an experienced and highly organised Bookkeeper with knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Management Accounts, Credit Control, CIS, VAT returns & Bank Reconciliation's. You will be based at Hemel Hempstead and will work 9am to 5pm 3 days a week Monday to Friday, Days can be negotiable, however once agreed they will be set days. In return our client offers an excellent a salary of circa GBP30,000 dependent on individual experience and skills.

Key Duties for the Experienced Bookkeepers role :-

- Bank reconciliation on sage
- Annual cash flow adjusted quarterly
- Monthly accounts (balance sheets / P&L / project %)
- Updating and maintaining a project %
- Outstanding monies spreadsheet to be kept up to date with new project valuations sent by Quantity Surveyors, payment notices and payments received
- Understanding / monitoring any payment variances on projects
- Logging of supplier invoices on our project management system and exporting to sage
- Checking & Certifying labour / sub-contractor's payments to export to sage
- Paying sub-contractors and suppliers
- CIS returns and Payment of CIS to HMRC
- Bank payroll transfers as per the payroll provided by the company's Accountant
- Drawing down payments from main contractor's payment portal
- Paying in cheques
- VAT returns on sage
- VAT payments to HMRC
- Speaking with Main contractor's accounts to confirm when payments will be received and whether via cheque or BACs if a new company
- Researching potential new clients submitted accounts and checking if they are of a sound financial status

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate must be a highly organised person who has previous experience working as a Bookkeeper and in Accounts Payable/Receivable, Management Accounts, Credit, Control, CIS, VAT returns and Bank Reconciliation's. You must good IT skills and have experience using Sage and Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook, etc.) and candidates must live within commutable distance to Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

- Credit Control
- knowledge and experience if CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)
- Knowledge of VAT and experience of VAT returns
- Bank Reconciliation's
