Assistant Researcher, Emmerdale - 6 Month FTC

Emmerdale is one of ITV's most successful long running drama series, regularly pulling in millions of viewers. As the success of Emmerdale continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Researcher to join our busy hard working team, ensuring that every single one of our episodes each year remain top quality entertainment.

As Assistant Researcher you will work closely with our current Researcher, helping them work in tandem with the story and script teams. As part of the role you will be responsible for checking all scripts and storylines for factual accuracy. You will support the Researcher in terms of liaising with the writing and production teams to help them with ongoing research.

As a strong relationship builder, you will develop and maintain contacts with a variety of professionals to help and advise on storylines. You will assist in generating story ideas based upon factual research, and conduct investigative research interviews. You will also develop and maintain relationships with Directors, Stage Managers, Design, Costume and Makeup on issues relating to accuracy and continuity.

As our Assistant Researcher you will have an ability to handle sensitive subject matters tactfully and have excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be a good team player with an enthusiastic and committed approach to research. You will have an ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and have the confidence to work to your own initiative. Emmerdale is a 6 episode, 52 week commission, and as such may facilitate long and unsocial working hours.
