Farm Operative
We are currently recruiting for a Farm Operative to join our Homefield Farm in Billingshurst, West Sussex RH14 9EB
As a Farm Operative you will assist the Farm Manager and Assistant Manager with the maintenance, health, welfare and general upkeep of a multi age breeding farm and ensure the day to day running within company parameters.
Main Responsibilities of a Farm Operative:
* Variety of duties including:- Feeding, assisting with vaccinations, chick intakes and bird depletion's
* To assist in the weekly weighing and grading of birds
* To liaise with the Farm Manager and Assistant Manager
* Maintain Health and Welfare of the stock by:
1. Adjusting the drinkers and feeders on a daily basis to ensure they are functioning effectively and are accessible at all times
2. Flocks to be walked on a regular basis throughout the week, including Saturday and Sunday
3. Maintaining Hygiene standards
4. To immediately inform management of potential problems and hazards and any deviations from standards
As a Farm Operative you will the ability to work in farm buildings and operate both within a small team and individually. You will be able form good working relationships and work independently and use own initiative. A good standard of literacy and numeracy
The role involves a number of manual processes including lifting feed and/equipment in the region of 20-25kg. You will also be required to work in farm buildings and operate both individually and in a small team.
