Our Client are first and foremost an organisation responsible for delivering government policy on disclosure and barring functions. They are a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) accountable to Parliament through the Secretary of State for the Home Office.

They play a vital role in safeguarding the most vulnerable in society through the provision of criminal record information enabling employers and voluntary organisations to make safer recruitment decisions and ultimately by barring those individuals considered to pose a significant risk in specific workforces.

They are currently looking to recruit a Head of Delivery to lead a portfolio of projects and programmes that deliver the business change programme, transforming our processes and technology, whilst building and providing senior leadership and direction to the DBS delivery capability.

As a member of the management team, you will provide leadership to the project teams, promoting best practice and encouraging knowledge transfer, ensuing team members receive professional support and simultaneously creating a coherent delivery profession. You will lead and manage strong relationships with stakeholders from all levels across the department with external influencers, such as portfolio investment committee (HM Treasury, Government Digital Systems and Crown Commercial) providing ongoing assurance of Programme delivery against Programme milestone.

An effective decision maker, with the ability to lead and communicate well, the successful candidate will be experienced in successfully managing and delivering transformation programmes within an operational environment. Accredited to APMG Effective Change Management Practitioner level, PPM practitioner level in Prince 2, Agile or MSP with a demonstrable understating of the Project and Programme lifecycle. A self-starter, with strong organisational skills, you will work effectively, remaining professional in a highly pressured environment, with the ability to take ownership of your own and your team’s work.
