Plant and Transport Co-ordinator



We are looking for an experienced Transport Co-ordinator to control workshop staff, plan and schedule maintenance and repairs of our well-established client’s Plant Hire and Heavy Transport Fleet. As the office-based Plant and Transport Co-ordinator you will ideally come from a stores/parts background or even a transport environment and live within a 10 mile radius of Lincoln. The ideal Controller will have good geographical knowledge and even better if you have a mechanical background. Key Transport Co-ordinator's responsibilities:


  • Plan work schedules for workshop staff
  • Co-ordinate repairs and maintenance of plant equipment and vehicles
  • Maintain plant and vehicle records in-line with current legislation
  • Plan and register routes for abnormal loads, co-ordinating transport costs
  • Order parts
  • Deal with suppliers in person, via the telephone and email
  • Co-ordinate workshop repairs
  • Input data and record details in line with ISO requirement


Personal Specification Plant and Transport Co-ordinator:


  • Good communication skills
  • Transport office, parts or stores background desirable
  • National CPC holder, desirable
  • Good knowledge of vehicles and equipment from major manufacturers
  • Excellent organisational and prioritization skills
  • Good IT skills including Excel and Outlook


This prestigious company offer a competitive package including a 3% company pension contribution. Office hours are 7.30 am – 5.30 pm Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to noon on Saturdays (shared working within the team).
