Senior Buyer / Subcontract Manager/ Category Manager - Mechanical & Mouldings -Aerospace.

Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer / Subcontracts Manager within Mechanical & Mouldings. The successful candidate should have a Mechanical buying background, have previous procurement experience for a whole transformation project, you would be working within a team of 8 buyers and purchasing managers and will be involved in the day to day transactional buying of mechanical products, the successful candidate Must have a mechanical background and able to read technical drawings and ideally come from the aerospace sector.
The role is to create, develop and implement sourcing strategies for the Mechanical and Mouldings commodity to support the business unit. Lead category business Supply Chain Transformation goals in vendor reduction, monitoring and optimization. Ensure the effective procurement of materials, components, major work packages and services within the category for the Business Unit & for any related new products. Work with relevant internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive procurement operational excellence. The successful candidate must have a strong mechanical buying background able to read technical drawings and have a mechanical procurement background
As a Senior Buyer/ Subcontract Manager - Mechanical & Mouldings your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Experience working in a supply chain organisation.
Previous experience as a buyer within an Aerospace/Manufacturing company
A degree in business, operations, supply chain, engineering or related field.
Experiencing of influencing and/or negotiating.
Experience of supplier relationship management.
Able to read technical drawings
Strong Mechanical Engineering background
Technical knowledge of the Mechanical commodity.
Previous experience owning a procurement project.
Ability to work to financial and time-sensitive constraints.
CIPS certification is desirable
