Spectrum Engineer

FINTEC recruit is seeking a Spectrum Engineer for our Telecommunications client, with an international reach. This role is permanent and based Isle of Man, relocation assistance is available. Salary is negotiable by experience, competitive package. There will be travel to other company international sites involved in this role. You will require to have experience in radio frequency system design or regulation, radio, microwave or telecommunications industry experience.

Responsibilities:

* Obtain/protect new/existing spectrum
* Influence ITU spectrum allocations and satellite coordination procedures
* Support Business Development with technical due diligence activities
* Support spectrum coordination
* Development of technical papers/studies and ITU filings
* Support licensing of satellites and earth stations

Skills and Experience required for the Spectrum Engineer role:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Satellite, Telecommunications, or Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• At least 2 years' experience in radio frequency system design or regulation, radio, microwave or telecommunications industries
  * Knowledge of the ITU Radio Regulations and Regional Regulations
  * An understanding on satellite technologies and applications
  * Have an understanding of orbital mechanics and how to model and simulate the flight paths of space objects
  * Fluency in written and oral English are required, working knowledge of other languages would be an asset
  * Working knowledge of a programming language eg. Python or Matlab
  * Strong desire to learn and take on new challenges
  * Possess a proactive, "can do" attitude
