This is an exciting opportunity for an Office Junior Administrator to pursue and develop a career within a dynamic and vibrant company based at our Croydon premises; providing administrative, marketing, sales and operational support to a team of 8, with the opportunity in time to work with our operational team on events based in the UK and worldwide.
Administrative, Sales & Marketing Duties:
" Providing operational administrative support on exhibitions and events.
" Database management; exhibitor list updates for exhibitions / events.
" Preparing shipping instructions and shipping forms.
" Sales & Marketing: Using direct marketing & e-marketing to market our freight exhibition
" Services to exhibitors, trade associations, organisers, agents and contractors.
" Answering the telephone; taking notes and passing on messages when required.
" Management of office supplies and stationery.
" Tea and coffee duties.
" Office diary management.
Operational Duties:-
" Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking account of
" the perishable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time and security.
" Arranging appropriate packing, taking account of climate, weight, nature of goods, cost,
" and the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination.
" Negotiating transportation and handling costs with agents, suppliers and contractors.
" Obtaining, checking and preparing documentation to meet customs and insurance
" Requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries` regulations.
" Offering consolidation services by air, sea and road, ensuring cost-effective and secure
" Solutions.
" Liaising with UK and international agents and suppliers regarding the safe transit and
" arrival of consignments.
" Utilising tracking systems to enable tracking of cargo and keeping the exhibitor updated
" of status.
Skills Needed
" You will need to have and demonstrate:
" Communication skills - you will be liaising with a variety of people
" Clarity in communication, as major problems could arise through inaccuracies
" Organisational and planning skills
" Teamwork, tact and good interpersonal skills
" Good geographical knowledge.
" Problem-solving ability, particularly when working under pressure.
" Accuracy and attention to detail.
" Numeracy and computer literacy.
" Driving License would be preferable (although not necessary) with parking available on site.
Salary
£18,000 - £20,000 depending on qualifications and Experience, this can progress and is very much based on the individual`s overall Performance.
Working hours
Working hours are typically 35 to 40 hours per week.
Flexible working is sometimes required to cover busier periods as when required.
Holiday Entitlement
25 days + Annual Bank Holiday entitlement.
Qualifications
Candidates should have higher education qualifications in a relevant subject area or
Relevant practical work experience.
