The client:
Part of leading printed packaging group, modern and well invested factory, fast paced business with blue chip customer base.
Purpose:
The principal focus of the role will be managing the total production function including Print, Conversion, Engineering, Warehousing and CI. The position will be responsible for managing the Health & Safety standards and driving through lean processes / safety standards / culture and behavioural change. Responsibility will include line management of Department Heads of the above functions as well as maintain sound employee relations with the recognised Union.
The role will involve regular liaison with the Technical & Quality Departments to ensure that the necessary high standards of quality meet and exceed customer expectations and all accreditation standards including BRC, ISO9001, ISO 14001, HACCP and food hygiene are maintained. The role will also involve assisting the Technical Department with both product improvement and product development.
The role will require a provision of functional packaging to meet customer requirement as well as improving efficiencies in a fast-growing environment. Responsibility for driving down operational costs and overall site performance.
Person specification - Who you need to be:
Printed packaging experience is essential (litho, flexo or gravure)
Used to working in a fast paced circa GBP50M/150 employee business
Has the authority to drive safety, quality & EBITDA, driven by excellence with a strong sense of urgency, willing to work in a demanding environment that is customer focused
Defines how the business is run in conjunction with the General Manager and line management
Excellent communicator (written and verbal) at all times.
Great attention to detail
Excellent project management skills
Strategic and innovative thinker
Organised and calm under pressure
Friendly, approachable and flexible - a team player
Professional.
Proactive, positive, enthusiastic - demonstrates "can do" attitude
Commercially aware
Leads by example, but effective delegator.
Travel may be required therefore current, clean driving licence an advantage
Qualifications and Experience:
Commercially astute with excellent communication skills, highly commercial with a flair for engaging with both customers and staff
Experienced operations executive with both FMCG manufacturing and packaging industry experience
Business, marketing, finance, economics degree or equivalent experience
For EU roles, candidates must be eligible to work and live in the European Union.
Proof of eligibility will be required with your application.
