Global Account Manager

12 months fixed term contract (maternity leave)

UK / Home Based - some travel to Head office in Leicester required.

Salary: GBP35-40K (may be negotiable depending on experience) + Bonus + Company Car, Mobile & Laptop and 31 days holiday.

Their hardlines business helps retailers, brands and manufacturers to ensure that their products meet safety, regulatory, quality and performance standards and their technical experts work pro- actively to help industry stakeholders overcome challenges, protect consumers and reinforce the global marketplace. Our Client has strong relationships with local governments and Non- Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and actively participate in statutory committees and standards development bodies, enabling them to stay ahead of the market and keep customers at the forefront of changes to testing methodologies and safety requirements.

Our Client now has a rare opportunity for a Global Account Manager to join their dynamic head office team in Leicester. The main focus of this role will be to develop new business and expand existing business by proactively promoting the company's testing, inspection, auditing and associated services both locally and globally.

Required skills, experience and abilities are:-

* Good numeracy, literacy and computer literacy skills

* Previous experience in a sales and / or account management role - experience in hardlines, or other similar industries, would be preferred

* Experience of products and Assurance Testing, Inspection and Certification (ATIC) services would be advantageous

* Demonstrable track record of exceeding targets and proactivity for a role which involves prospecting and building / managing an accurate opportunities pipeline

* The ability to manage and negotiate contracts

* The ability to deliver excellent customer service

* High levels of analytical ability, capable of ensuring compliance to company, industry and regulatory standards.

* Highly self-motivated with an energised mind-set and the willingness to learn and adapt

* Confident communicator (written & oral) who is able to build rapport quickly and effectively

* Full current driving licence.

Hours of work for this role are 37.5 per week and whilst you will be field based, regular visits to the office in Leicester are required in order to build rapport with colleagues and team mates. Although the role deals with global customers, there is little requirement for international travel.

This role is on a 12 months contract initially to cover maternity leave. However, the prospects of being made permanent within this very large company are excellent, with benefits such as Pension Scheme, Life Assurance and an Employee Discount Scheme.
