Job Title: Assistant Buyer

Location: Whiteparish, Salisbury

Job Type: Full time, Permanent (8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday)

The Company has a vacancy in their busy purchasing & planning team at their Operations facility located at Old Sarum. The role involves all aspects relating to purchasing, scheduling and control of parts.

Main Duties:

• Ordering & scheduling of parts - driven by MRP
• Maintain integrity of stock
• Locating hard to find parts in the supply chain
• Supplier negotiation
• Purchasing of non-stock parts / services
• Close liaison with all (UK) Operations, Sales & Engineering Teams
• Close liaison with overseas offices in particular Hong Kong
• To answer the telephone with a polite and efficient manner
• To carry out administrative tasks that arise from the job
• Assist with Stores / Production / Dispatch - as and when required
• To undertake additional duties as may reasonably be required

The successful Candidate will have/be:

• Highly motivated self-starter
• Good IT Skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Good negotiation skills and basic knowledge of UK contract law
• Have a "good eye" for detail
• Experience of MRP systems would be an advantage
• Have a "can-do" attitude
• Full driving licence
