Driver/Labourer

This busy company is seeking a new driver / labourer for their busy warehouse.
Hours 0730 - 1730

- Unloads timber deliveries and stacks tidily in the racks, by timber type, using forklift, where necessary and numbering timber with job number.
- Checks that orders tally with paperwork and reports non-conformances to foreman/assistant foreman.
- Maintains the forklift truck and charger on a monthly basis, completing the relevant paperwork.
- Selects timber from racks, with information supplied by foremen.
- Transports goods from department to department in an efficient way, including relevant paperwork, e.g. blue job card, where possible.
- Wraps goods in the most appropriate way, in readiness for delivery.
- Loads lorry with items for delivery, checking that all relevant items are included on the load, together with foreman.
- Reports any noted defects to foreman.
- Makes deliveries/collections to/from destinations given by Manager.
- Plans journey using the safest and quickest route.
- Is responsible for general maintenance of vehicles, e.g., fuel, tyres, water, cleaning.
- Stands in for the cleaner when necessary, e.g., for holiday and sick leave.
- Is courteous to customers and suppliers remembering to represent the Company in a positive way.
- Helps to load/unload items for the CNC and other machines when required, under the supervision of the foremen.
