Facade Designer

UK Facades offer a complete fa??ade solution for the residential market, from initial preliminary design to practical site completion, utilising many materials including SFS, glazing, various rain screen systems (including Aluminium, Insulated Render, Zinc, Terracotta, Stone and Brick), complex fascias and copings, and GRC & Precast concrete.
We are looking to recruit 2 No. Fa??ade Designers. Positions will be based at both our South West London and Basingstoke offices. Successful candidates will become part of the Design team responsible for delivering the full detailing and scheduling to the complete fa??ade package on several exciting new residential projects across London. They must possess the enthusiasm and drive to efficiently deliver all aspects of the design process.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Producing working drawings for UKF elements of each project and ensuring these drawings comply with the project specifications, customer requirements, current regulations and engineering.
• Attending design meetings with Main Contractor, Architect, Engineers etc. to discuss the project details
• Working to meet UKF programme requirements and deadlines as well as monitoring and reporting progress
• Attending to correspondence of a technical nature relating to current project
• Assisting the QS with ordering materials and producing fabrication schedules to meet the project programme
• Liaising with manufacturers, suppliers and site staff for the duration of the project
• Preparation of all design & technical approvals required for the project, including samples, mock-ups, drawings and technical reports.
• Ensuring all drawing office procedures are carried out in accordance with the Company's standards
• Mentor and train less experienced members of the team ensuring all their work meets the required standard
• Completing other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the jobholder's level assigned by Senior Design staff.
Qualifications, Experience & Key Skills :
• Qualifications - HNC level qualification or above in construction or engineering related subject (Desirable)
• Experience - At least 3 years' experience in a similar role (Essential). Significant experience in aluminium/glass facades systems, Roofing , Cladding and Rain screen systems (Desirable)
• Key Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office and latest 3D and 2D industry software tools, AutoCAD (Essential) & Revit (Desirable). Technically minded with high attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Essential). Ability to work effectively both alone and contributing to a team environment. Ability to read technical drawings and take quantities of architects drawings (Desirable).
