The Burford Recruitment Company are working in partnership with a well-established leading brand that is synonymous with quality and prestige. We are seeking an ambitious career-minded Buyer to join their busy merchandising and buying team at their head office location in Witney, Oxfordshire.

The successful applicant will build a brand renowned for quality, specialism, expertise and British heritage and set the creative direction for the merchandise assortment to achieve this across all selling channels globally.

Additional duties will include:

  • Working with the Senior Buyer to plan the product strategy and sales opportunity for the business
  • Working with the Merchandiser to plan sales, stock and margin budgets of all areas as well as recommending initiatives and promotional activity in order to achieve targets
  • Plan the buys for all new lines with the Merchandising Team, ensuring that all production deadlines and delivery dates are met and sales optimised
  • Proposes the direction and trends for seasonal product development
  • Work with suppliers to ensure value on price, whilst also ensuring perfect quality of goods, packaging standards and payment terms are managed
  • Works collaboratively with marketing to identify promotional and marketing opportunities in store and on line
  • Liaises effectively with other departments, warehouse and retail operations

To be successful in this role you should have a number of years experience in a similar role demonstrating commercial awareness,the ability to build and maintain relationships as well as possessing excellent communication and negotiation skills. you should be organised and methodical with a passion to learn and develop in the Buying arena. A competent user of excel and outlook you will be trend aware with the ability to translate this awareness into relevant, successful product.
