Role: Principle Mechanical Systems Engineer
Location: Rosyth
Contract Duration: 6 Months View to extend
Start: ASAP

Rullion has a fantastic opportunity for a Principle Mechanical Systems Engineer with our clients highly prestigious FPSO refit project. This opportunity would suit a Chartered member of the IMechE, IChemE, ImarEST or RINA with demonstrable success within the Oil and Gas or Marine Industries. A thorough understanding of UKCS regulatory requirements will be essential, and the candidate must be fully capable of providing specialist guidance within a multidisciplinary engineering team. This individual will be responsible for the quality of their own deliverables and will participate within Babcock's safety, quality and design governance processes.
Core responsibilities include:
* System Sizing calculations: utilities consumption, pressure drops, pump and valve sizing
* Pipework and machinery layouts
* P&ID design for Class Approval
* Piping specifications
* Specifications for mechanical equipment: boilers, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, tanks, valves etc
Significant experience in one or more of the following design areas will be essential
* Steam Systems and boilers
* Hydraulics(valve control) system
* Cargo handling systems and offloading reels
* Flare tower
* FW/DO loading reels
* Hawser and Mooring winches
* Be knowledgeable of the content of the Design Lifecycle and the procedures defined therein
* Undertake project specific role(s) within designated SQEP capability, e.g. Project Technical Authority, Engineering Lead, Safety Lead,
* Ensure understanding and compliance with all relevant Risk Assessments, obtaining the necessary safety paperwork to carry out tasks, Point of Work Safety Assessment, visit log, etc as required
