Freight & Shipment Administrator

Elevation Recruitment Group Business Support is currently supporting a key client with the appointment of an experienced, adaptable and results driven Freight & Shipment Controller.

Located in the south of Sheffield, the business are highly successful and credible manufacturers of an incredibly sought after, popular product. With an international presence, as well as the primary operation being in the UK, they also have strong links to the US and Far East from a distribution and manufacturing presence.

Reporting into the Head of Supply, the purpose of the role is to be responsible for the coordination of inbound freight to the UK distribution centres, working in an effective manner ensuring import legislation and compliance is adhered to at all times and also that the most cost effective methods are utilised.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

-Organise all shipments in a timely and cost effective manner
-Liaise with suppliers, UK and Overseas ensuring shipments are booked and released accordingly
-Monitor, negotiate and report on freight rates
-Prepare and maintain goods in transit schedule
-Verify and approve invoices
-Primary point of contact for all import transactions
-Maintaining accurate records and filing of all import documents
-Process claims for damaged goods and duty re claims
-Customs warehousing processes; dealing with issues; check commodity prices; raising GRN's

Key Skills Required

-At least 2 years of experience within a Freight & Shipping environment
-Process driven
-Understand of HMRC regulations and Bill of Lading
-Accurate and precise working manner
