Our client is a leading supplier of coffee and vending services and products to businesses across Scotland. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Service Engineer to join their expanding team covering Aberdeen area.
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for fixing and performing maintenance on a wide range of premium coffee machines, from manufacturers such as WMF, Thermoplan, Schaerer, Rancilio, Gaggia, and Fracino. This includes bean-to-cup as well as some traditional espresso machines. They will travel to various customer sites to maintain and repair these espresso coffee machines on site in accordance with Company rules and schedules.
Key Activities:
- Assessing and repairing machines as required
- Diagnosing problems and repairing machines to ensure an acceptable level of future breakdown and identify problems areas and ensure appropriate action is taken
- Driving Company vehicle to various client sites on a daily basis - approx distances can vary but can involve on average between 2-4 hours travelling per day.
- Maintaining a full understanding of company products/machines and advances in equipment as they occur
- Complete paperwork and logging of calls via PDA as required.
- Ensure parts are only ordered and fitted as necessary and to ensure all warranty parts claims are processed/returned in and timely manner
Required
- Have Electro-mechanical experience
- Knowledge of Plumbing
- Knowledge of Single and 3 Phase Electrics an advantage
- Have a full driving license
- Be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
- Be able to work alone or as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience of pressure vessel testing would be preferred
- Required to participate in the weekend rota to cover a maximum of 1 weekend in 4
Physical Requirements
- Suitably dextrous to diagnose and fix parts within a variety of machines on customer sites - due to the location and size of the coffee machines this will involve significant bending, reaching and some lifting inside machines often in a confined area
- Suitable dextrous to handle a variety of tools to fix/maintain parts within the confines of a machine
- Driving a company car to various sites during an 8 hour working day. Average travelling times are 2-4 hours per day but on occasion can be longer
- Weights of average 2-3 kilos on some occasions
In return the business will offer a excellent basic salary of GBP25,500, plus the opportunity to earn overtime, extra commission and bonuses. There's also a company van or car included, and a pension.
