The Client

Homes England is the new national housing agency, recently launched to play a major role in fixing the housing market and enabling delivery of homes that our country needs.

Homes England bring together land, money, expertise, and planning & compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability. They work locally in individual communities to help meet local priorities.

Role and Responsibilities

This is a Senior Portfolio Manager role within the Portfolio Management Team.  The job holder will manage the primary Homes England relationship with our larger and more complex Borrowers and undertake regular site visits to monitor the progress of the residential development schemes and Infrastructure projects currently ‘under development’ and funded by Homes England.  The role holder will work in close liaison with our appointed Monitoring Surveyor and Legal Advisers.

Portfolio Management is responsible for authorising draw down of loan funding approved within the Home Building Fund and monitoring the successful build completion of residential schemes/infrastructure projects and the sale of homes and/or land.  The role requires a knowledge of residential development and associated loan funding, and a thorough approach to Credit Risk and Credit Stewardship.  This is an ideal opportunity to develop a range of skills within an expanding Portfolio Management function and to manage loan funding related to both Residential Development and Infrastructure projects.

Key Skills and Attributes

We are looking for someone from a banking, finance, property or surveying background with strong technical knowledge, proven ability to review development appraisals and cash flows and portfolio manage residential finance facilities. A positive, client centric approach is also important. The successful applicant may also support the Portfolio Management Heads through coaching and line management of other Portfolio Management staff.
