The mission of the Cambridge Graphene Centre (CGC) is to investigate the science and technology of graphene and related materials. This engineering innovation centre allows partners to meet, and effectively establish joint industrial-academic activities to promote innovative and adventurous research with an emphasis on applications. The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Graphene Technology aims to development people able to stimulate the sustainability of engineering research and commercialisation of graphene and related materials across a variety of sectors.

We seek an experienced PA to provide a comprehensive PA service to the Director, Deputy Director and Administrators of the Cambridge Graphene Centre. The key responsibility of the role-holder will be the management of the Director's, Deputy Director and Administrators' diary and dealing in an efficient and timely manner with a very high daily volume of emails and calls (by phone and in person) from hundreds of collaborators and academic and industrial partners in UK and worldwide, in coordination with the diary and daily activities of all the CGC and CDT members. The role holder will be instrumental in ensuring the effective operation of the daily schedule of all personnel and students in the CGC and CDT, as well as updating databases, and scheduling personnel recruitment. The role-holder will co-ordinate and plan the Centre's events, meetings, workshops, seminars and relative finances, and organise and prepare the agendas and minutes. This will be done in person or by delegating responsibilities to the most appropriate CGC/CDT staff members. We seek a team player who is able to prioritise work and build positive relations with work colleagues.  

The successful applicant will be educated to at least A level standard with advanced  diary management, IT skills (inclusive of web page management) and with experience of financial accounting. The applicant must have excellent administrative and organisational skills and a proven track record in working under very tight and overlapping deadlines. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and to organise and prioritise a wide range of tasks.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
