They have a vacancy for a technologist to work in the Furniture and Floorcoverings department. As a floorcoverings technologist, your main responsibilities will include:
- Meeting the required customer service levels
- Support of the floorcoverings technicians
- Handle technical customer enquiries regarding floorcovering testing requirements
- Develop good working relationships with specifiers in key customers
- Remain up to date with floorcoverings testing legislation and testing standards
- Provide accurate quotations and actively follow up to secure testing work
- Promptly book jobs into the laboratory, provide acknowledgements with accurate lead times and prepare lab test sheets
- Prepare test reports in accordance with company procedures and check technicians reports
- Ensure test jobs are completed on time and reported within 24 hours of completion
- Assist with setting up and testing products as required
- Write technical and promotional articles
- Assist with other sales and marketing
Candidates should have at least 5 GCSE's, including Maths, English and Science. Attention to detail, accuracy and a well organised approach are essential. Good communication skills are essential, as are practical computer skills.
The appointed technologist will be expected to work to deadlines, check accurate, detailed test reports and work independently when required. Experience of working within a regulated laboratory environment would be an advantage as would knowledge of floorcoverings.
Flexibility, tenacity and a 'can do attitude' are key requisites of the role. Within the guidelines of the flexible working system, candidates should be able and willing to work their contracted hours between the hours of 7am and 7pm if required.
