Transport Manager - Wolverhampton

We are advertising on behalf of our client, FA Gill, who have been one of Britain's most loved pork producers for over 130 years. They pride themselves on working with British farmers, and ultimately supporting the nation's agriculture industry and source pork from Red Tractor farms, thereby providing assurance of food safety, animal welfare, hygiene & environmental protection throughout.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a 'hands-on' Transport Manager to run their transport function from their main site in Wolverhampton.

The fleet is a mixture of multi-temperature vehicles delivering to our customers and depots. The role will also control fleet operations at our 2 other locations.

The role would suit someone who likes to get involved and works to a high standard and can build a team approach to delivering a great service for our customers.

Duties will include;

• Management of the fleet and drivers ensuring legal compliance standards.
• Control of Tachograph / Drivers Hours.
• Liaising with vehicle maintenance providers.
• Management of any vehicle accidents.
• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Development and appraising staff.
• Maintaining a safe working environment, in line with Health and Safety regulations.

The ideal candidate should;

• Have an National CPC Qualification.
• Have good transport management experience.
• Be good at problem solving
• Have a flexible attitude.
• Be able to communicate effectively and report to all levels.
• Experience of using Tacho / fleet management software - we use FTA vision.
