We are working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced FLT Side Loader
Our client has been the leading timber engineering specialists for the last 20 years, they design, manufacture and erect timber frame structures, roof trusses and engineered joists throughout the UK. All their design and manufacturing is carried out in-house at their 80,000 sq. ft. Leeds facility by our highly experienced and professional team.
Continued growth and development now means that they have an opportunity for further help in their facility and require a FLT Side Loader operative who holds an appropriate fork-lift licence.
Job Responsibilities:
Warehouse and Yard duties, in a busy timber merchant business, including
* Operating a traditional side loader fork lift truck
* Manual handling of stock and finished products
* Maintenance of stock and appropriate paperwork
* Maintaining a clean and safe environment
* Working as part of a busy team
* Carrying out other tasks and duties as required
Experience / Knowledge / Skills Required:
* Previous experience of a similar role is required, ideally gained within a merchant environment
* A valid side loader FLT licence is essential - the capability and experience to drive Side-loader and counterbalance trucks would be advantageous
* Experience of loading vehicles
* This role involves some elements of manual handling and as such requires a certain level of physical fitness
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Open to learn new skills
* Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety
* Flexibility to carry out a variety of roles
* An ability to prioritise your workload
* Punctual and reliable with a good work ethic
* Overtime may be required from time to time
Hours of work - 40 hours worked between 07:30 and 17:00 Monday to Friday.
