St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1, the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. Our refurbished offices are in the city centre near to the station (London St Pancras 20 minutes), shops and restaurants. In short, it is a great place to live and work .
We are looking for an individual to provide cover for an internal secondment, for a period of up to 12 months, within our busy, dynamic and friendly team. In this post, you will be working in a wide-ranging role dealing with public health complaints, scrap metal dealers, fly tipping and supporting the work of a team of Environmental Health Officers. Although the post is generic in nature, it would involve working across all disciplines within the section and training will be provided if necessary.
Ideally, you must have the ability to deliver a variety of regulatory interventions and solutions through the provision and application of enforcement skills, knowledge and expertise. A current driving licence, and a vehicle insured for business use, are essential for this role.
Subject to a vacancy on the rota, you may also have the opportunity to participate in the Out of Hours Noise Service which operates for limited hours on Friday evenings and weekends, for which an additional allowance would be payable.
This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Check.
We offer a competitive package which also includes up to 24 days annual leave, pension scheme, reimbursement of professional fees, access to parking, training and development opportunities, flexible working options (including homeworking), leisure and travel discounts and a number of other benefits.
