My client is an established and forward thinking business based in
Nottingham. We are looking for a positive, team-player to join the
busy HR team as an HR Officer.

You will be expected to provide a proactive HR service to support the
HR Team, Line Managers and staff. Working closely with the rest of the
HR team, you will contribute to the provision of an effective HR
service that is integral to the ongoing success of the business and
delivering the HR strategy in an effective and efficient way.

Key responsibilities:

* Providing day to day support to the HR Assistants

* Taking the lead in providing specialist advice and support to
Managers on HR operational matters such as: conduct and
capability, grievance, attendance management, performance
management, staff retention and redeployment

* Working closely with Managers and staff to achieve timely and
effective resolution to HR management issues

* Participating in training and coaching sessions for Managers and
staff to raise awareness of HR policies and ensure compliance with
employment legislation

* Managing the absence reduction programme by working closely with
Managers to drive down absence levels and related costs

* Providing advice and support to Managers on disciplinary and
grievance matters

* Coaching and supporting Managers in the effective implementation
of the Personal Development and Contribution Review process

* Advise and participate with recruitment and selection

* Advising Managers in organisation restructuring exercises and
staffing reviews

* Various ad-hoc project work

* Providing support to the HR Manager in a range of generalist
activities - and coaching the HR Assistant and HR Coordinator with
a range of HR queries

The ideal candidate will have:

* Up to date employment legislation knowledge

* Experience of coaching Managers and providing advice and guidance
across a range of HR areas

* Prior generalist HR experience - with experience of managing a
range of operational casework including disciplinary, capability,
grievance, absence management and performance management

* The ability to engage effectively with Line Managers and to
develop effective HR solutions to resolve issues

* Experience of the end to end recruitment process

* Strong communication and influencing skills

* Strong analytical and decision making skills

* You will be of Graduate calibre (or equivalent) and will ideally
be a Graduate member of CIPD
