Manufacturing Engineer

**Contract Position**

**GBP30-GBP35 per hour LTD**


**6 month contract with a view to be ongoing**

**Based in West Midlands**

Our client are a tier 1 supplier of automotive plastic accessories to the likes of JLR, Aston Martin and Mercedes, due to the award of a new line of product, we are seeking a contract Manufacturing Engineer (NPI) to launch a new production line

Job Description

Responsible for manufacturing work elements of New Product Introduction from Quotation to SOP days. Provide engineering support in completing required tasks to ensure a smooth and comprehensive launch into production respecting the needs and requirements of both the production plant and customer.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

* Support and monitor all APQP steps within the system

* Technical support for project management, feasibility, CAD and manufacturing teams.

* Support Process flow, PFMEA and control plan creation and implementation.

* Identify CAPEX requirements

* Monitor process metrics with assistance from methods engineers to ensure process is delivering cost expectations in acquisition.

* Develop processes ensuring lean techniques are implemented.

* Create and train to standard work instructions

* Manage project ECR/DCR/DRFQ within the plant ensuring a comprehensive impact assessment is completed and communicated to key account managers in a timely manner.

* Communicate effectively across many areas of the business and levels of seniority to promote the short and long term goals of the project.

* Produce reports and communiqu?? informing key stakeholders of upcoming tasks, builds and challenges within the project.

* Manage the day to day activities around early stage pre-series builds.

* Ensure processes conform to relevant regulations and directives, review documentation to ensure compliance before handover.

* Complete the MTM analysis and compare to project costings to ascertain delta.

* Create and develop the layout

* Manage the installation of equipment to layout, including management of external contractors.

* Buy off the assembly process with assistance from the Assembly Engineer

* Develop and implement supply chain strategy within the facility and incoming 2nd tier supplied parts

* Develop packaging according to PfEP and manage the procurement

* Manage any external resources or contractors whilst working on site.

* Attend and contribute in any pertinent meetings directly or indirectly involving your projects.

* Manage, track and expedite tasks assigned to other personnel which affect the NPI project.

* Be the expert and reference information source for the projects you are working on, communicating details on request and on initiative to ease the integration into production.

* Must have experience in assembly processes

* Experience launching new production processes within deadlines
